Happy Birthday to me! 37 years old

"Do I still celebrate birthdays?" someone asked me today. I answered, "Absolutely." I don't mind getting older. I have a new favorite quote I like

"Do no regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many."

I truly am thankful each day to be alive and to be with my children and family. I spent this year continuing trying to be as healthy and happy as possible. I finished my 2nd 5K, my 2nd triathlon, and ran my first half marathon. I feel great. I weighed in this morning at 146 lbs. (3 lbs up from last year) I still want to get into the 130's. There is always room for improvement.

Today is the kid's last day off from school and Trent's first day back at work. I took the kid's out to lunch and we had a great time together. I feel so blessed. Trent came home with flowers, cupcakes, and my favorite ice cream (Blue Bell's Strawberries and Homemade Vanilla).

I snatched a picture of myself in the car with the little boys while waiting for swim team.

And here is a video that shows how young at heart I still think I am.

I mean really, how many 37 year olds can still do a round off back flip and a back handspring????

And though I don't feel any older as I look around all my friends seem to be getting older. I love keeping in touch with everyone and in the past it seemed the news was always fun and exciting -- who is getting married? who is having a baby? what new job? and don't get me wrong there is still lots of fun and exciting (kids that are driving, career changes, surprise babies) but I hear a lot about divorces, cancer, and other not so fun things.
