I told Trent. He said, "Did you throw all the markers away?" I said, "No, I just put them on the counter out of Adam's reach." He said, "Throw them away." I laughed and thought, "He is so over-reacting!" He said, "One of these days, it's gonna be permanent marker on the carpet or something. " Yeah, Yeah, . . . whatever.
20 Minutes Later. . . Catherine screams "Moooooooooooooooom! Get in here. Madelyn had given Adam the marker pail (again) but this time he repeated this little incident on my beautiful white berber carpet in my family room.
I was soooooooo MAD. I COULD NOT EVEN TAKE A PICTURE OF IT!!!~!!
THE MORAL
Listen to your mother. Don't laugh when your kids do something wrong, they will try to be "funny" again. And when your husband tells you to throw away 100 perfectly good markers. DO IT!!!!!!

I am laughing so hard...even though I shouldn't! BUT I guess you can when it is NOT your carpet and YOUR kids.I am really sorry thoguh-I do have to say Dan would have told me to do the same thing w/ throwing everything away BUT I can't-it seems so wasteful. We need a closet we can lock for those kinds of things. If we throw away all the crayons and markers-then what do they color with? It is easy to say nothing BUT yeah right raising 4 kids w/out coloring all day- Alot more TV and I am not sure I would trade that!hmmmm-here is to inevitable catastrophes
Ohhhhh, been there too. It's the worst feeling ever! Elyse did it with dry erase board markers. I scrubbed for an hour with every chemical and finally got it out. What a nightmare!
