Adam's name

A long, long time ago I purchased some painted wooden letters to decorate all of the kid's rooms with their names. I did the girls' names in February of 2008 and Adam's letters have sat, undone for over 2 1/2 years. Today, he asked why his room did not belong to him. I couldn't figured out what he meant and questioned him. He said it is because his room doesn't have his name on the wall. He started crying even. So -- I made his letters today. It is such an easy project (you can see the directions on the link to the girl's ones). He loves it! Now his room is his!

If I haven't been blogging, then what have I been doing . . .

Lots of things . . .

1. making freezer jam (since my kids won't eat regular jam)
2. entertaining children (since I still don't have TV)
3. organizing
4. organizing
5. organizing (you get the picture???)
6. redecorating (i deserve my very own HGTV special)

Here is one project. These barstools were left by the owner and they are soft and comfy and fit perfectly in the space, but I just didn't love them . . . so 5 cans of spray paint ($0.96 each) 2 yards of fabric found at Walmart ($4.49 per yard)

and $15 bucks later -- I have new barstools. I love them!!!!
What do you all think out there in the blogosphere? Do you like them better black? I also loved the fabric so much that I went back and bought enough for curtains. When they are done I will post them too!

I have a friend with a very fancy vinyl cutting machine and so I bought the black letters from her and made this pretty tile. I think it turned out great!

Cool Blog and Links

I was looking at a friends blog and I followed one of her links and then followed one of her links to Pink Penguin. I loved all her sewing stuff andproject ideas. I really do love sewing, but I always need new inspiration otherwise the busy-ness of the rest of my life prevents me from doing it. But the other fun thing was this set of links to japanese sites. . . I have printed some of the matching envelopes and stationary for the girls and they love it.

Some cool Japanese links to share...
