Glass etching

I'm working on making these glass etched ornaments.  The first try was  a total fail.  This is the second try.

Sitting by the tree

Owen loves to just sit and look at the tree.

Quills

We found this feather in the yard today.

Owen then asks, "is this the kind of feather you used with ink when you went to school, Mom?"

 I said, "no, we had pens, pencils and crayons, just like you."

 He said "even all the way back to when we you were in kindergarten?"

 I assured him that I didn't use quills and ink, even back in kindergarten.

Then he replied, "but Grandpa did, right?"

I said, "Yep. Probably"

Quiet Sunday

Other than, my having to speak in church . . . it was a pretty quiet day. We relaxed, Trent ran 15 miles, and we decorated some for Christmas.

Big Betty

Today, we all mostly did the big betty.

Then it was time to head home.

Thanksgiving

Driving to Houston and the Lake House

We left around 7:30 this morning so we could get to Shad's office. Catherine got some adjustments on her braces and Trent got his attachments off and rescanned to finish his invisalign.
Then we headed to the lake house. Before I could turn around, Catherine and Hailey were already paddleboarding on the lake.

There were so many acorns. We filled box after box.
and we set up a volleyball/badminton net.

Boys and kittens

We went over to some friends house today to see their kittens. Adam and Owen were so cute holding them.

Friendsgiving

Today we celebrated thanksgiving with all our friends. We are out of school for the week and had 70 people over tonight for a nacho bar. We had a great time. I didn't get a single picture of the party, but we had a great time.

Our Sunday Thanksgiving

Since we are going to the lake house, we baked our own thanksgiving feast today. We woke up to frost on the ground and got the ovens going.

Christmas tree lighting

Southlake had their Christmas Tree lighting today. It was chilly for the first time. Adam sang with his 4th grade choir and then we walked around with friends and made snowmen, went on the tubes down the sledding hill, went on a horse ride and had a good time.
