Halloween

Adam was spiderman.
Owen was at varying times a leopard, a soldier, ironman, and cowboy.
Madelyn was a witch.
Catherine was a black cat.
Julianne was too cool for a costume.

I loved my chalk board but always wanted it bigger. So today I doubled its size and bought chalk markers. I LOVE IT!

Homework time

The 3 little ones are to bed and Catherine and Julianne work on homework and eat ice cream. It's quiet here for the first time today.

I really am headed back to daily blogging. Things just get busier and the kids get busier and I drive like a chauffeur all around. But we are all happy and enjoying the time. The days are long but the years are short. They are growing up so fast.

3 week digest

I am still committed to blogging every day. It's just that there is so much homework to help with, so many practices to drive to and from, so many mouths to feed, so many dirty clothes to wash, so many open houses to attend, so many stories to read, so many smiles to make, so many tears to dry, so many games to play, so much fun to have. I'm having a great time and living a great life, but I'll be honest . . . it is busy. And so I am doing my best. I take pics on my iphone and post them on instagram for later uploading to my blog. I take photos on the camera as often as I can and get around to them when I can. So here is the last 3 weeks in snapshots.

Spying on Owen and his friend Sophie as they play with the toy kitchen. They are being unbelievably cute!

Thank you school for making every day so special and unique! #not Whatever happened to regular old normal school days?

Everyone gets a snitch. Owen may get more than one but that's just cuz he's so cute!

He's just running up and down the field. Back and forth, over and over. He says it is soccer! "Mom, I'm doing my soccer."

Without complaining! So I promised him an ice cream cone at McDonald's after football practice.

I'm snapping a picture of the boys when Owen's ice cream cone drips. Naturally he licks the table before I can even stop him!!!!! Yuck!!!! #whatdoesntkillyoumakesyoustronger

Quote of the week

Quote of the week.

Owen is VERY distressed that they didn't put the flag all the way up today. If only we could all be so innocent and protected. Someday (and probably sooner than I want) he'll understand. #9-11

All the kids are off to school. Owen asks, "mommy can I crawl on you lap?" How is my baby almost 3?

The first week of School

The kids are doing great. I'm doing great. I have filled all my time with some projects I just hadn't gotten around to. Here are some pics of them . . .

I've been doing projects. I made me this charm bracelet. One initial charm for each kid (JCMAO) and one charm for each type of race I've done (TRI, 5K, RR, 13.1). I LOVE IT!

Another project. Copied a friends tank top using my serger and one of the many old navy flag shirts lying around.

More projects. BYU stuff. BYU shirts for everyone and BYU vinyl stickers for my car window (and perhaps a bunch of Utah fans???)

Are you sick of my posts yet? Another project. Homemade fabric lunch bag. I couldn't pass up buying these designer upholstery swatches since they were 50 cents at Joann's. Now I'm trying to figure out how to use them!!!

I have had this key chain on my keys for 11 years. My friend and neighbor, Karen gave it to me. It has Julianne and Catherine's names on it plus cute little stick figures. I have looked for a new one for years but they never will put 5 names on one. Today

Trent and I even went out on a date all by ourselves last night. We had yummy food. It was as good as what we had in New England. New England clam chowder, crab cakes, and lobster rolls.

Really good food. Exceptional company (Trent). Great date. New England clam chowder, crab cakes, and lobster rolls. Worthy of New England.

The rest of our Utah Trip -- Sunday through Wednesday

On Sunday, we went to church and relaxed. Everyone came over for the evening. Trent flew home Monday morning so that he could get going back at work.

The kids and I met one of my Aunt's for lunch.

Then we met Sarah Brown (some old time friends) and her kids at the Taylorsville rec pool. We had fun catching up! Then we met Heidi and her boys and saw Turbo. That night Adam spent the night at Jennie and Russ's and Isabel spent the night with the girls. On Tuesday, I took pictures of Becky's little girl, Emily. Owen was my assistant! Isn't he cute!

Then we went to Jennie's house and switched back kids, had some chick-fil-a and then all met at Uncle Steve's house to swim. Then it was time to pack up. We flew home Wednesday. The kids did great. It was a long day. We left Trent's parents house at 6:45 am. We flew through PHX, OKC, and then Dallas Love field before finally arriving home at about 4:30 p.m. It felt good to be home! Homeward bound! M&m's are getting us through. On our last stop SLC -PHX-OKC -now to Dallas Love field.

Family Reunion day

Today we spent the whole day with all of Trent's family. 7 kids, 6 spouses (although Nelson wasn't with us), and 16 grandkids. We met at Jennie's home and started an "Amazing Race." We had a lot of fun following clues all over. Then we picnicked in the park. Then we met at a stake bowery to do a slip n slide and shoot off soda bottles. Then we had dinner at Trent's parents and the kids watched Dennis the menace outside. We had a lot of fun with everyone!
