Back to normalish

Today is kind of the last normal day for me as a mom with kids at home during the day. Owen and Sophie had lunch together.

Trent and I went to see Ragtime this evening.

The lake was open to boats

We were on the lake right at sunrise. The water was glass and there was NO ONE ELSE! I have tons more pics of the day, but this one captured all the sunrise, anxiousness, and excitement!

Even though the weather was nice, the lake remained closed to boats with no guarantee of opening. So we rented these.

Chloe's baptism

We all drove up to Katy for Chloe's baptism.

It rained all night.

We awoke to this. It didn't stop the kids. They still swung on the swing and swam in the lake. The drizzle, downpours, and rain continued with a few breaks.

the kids played lots of games on Friday as it rained and rained and the lake rose and rose.
We got the TV hung up
and called it a night. Shad and Amy and kids headed back to Katy so they would be able to get everything done for the baptism.

Headed down south

Had lunch with some friends today and LOVED this chocolate pinata. You break it open and it is full of fruit. Yummy.
Then we started to drive to Conroe. We didn't have rain much on our drive, but it was raining at Shad's house the whole day. We arrived in a small lull between downpours and got unloaded and settled in. We walked out on the deck, swung on the swing and noted that the lake had risen almost to the level of the bulkhead. It was about 2 inches below it and below the level of the deck.

Her 6th grade year is ending. She's growing up so smart, hard working, and beautiful (inside and out)!

Getting ready for the memorial day weekend

We are going to Shad's new lake house this weekend. Owen is helping me shop! We got him this sign. LOL

Saturday softball games and dinner on the lake

Madelyn played 3 softball games today for her end of season tournament. Then we headed to Lake Grapevine to eat hamburgers at "Big Daddy's" The evening was beautiful and the kids really enjoyed being right on the water. There were giant carp that you could throw food to and they would eat it.

Tomorrow, Adam's class is hosting a "wax museum". He is going to be Babe Ruth.

Baseball end of season tournament game #1

Tonight Adam's team (and I am the coach) played their first game in the tournament. The boys played amazing. We had so much fun and celebrated our victory at Rita's shaved ice!

Spring storms

This spring has been pretty volatile. We have had a lot of fast storms moving through. Tonight before a storm arrived, we had the puffiest clouds.

Beyonce

The older 2 girls, Julianne and Catherine went to see Beyonce tonight! They said the concert was really amazing.
